As of today, 650m of construction has been completed on the new Burg Dubai building. It is officially the tallest freestanding structure in the world, taller than the CN Tower.

Slowly, every thing that Canada has become famous for is slowly diminishing as the world ages. Canada was once very famous for its subway system, the canadarm, the cn tower, etc etc. We’re slowly losing these once magnificent accomplishments to the ever changing world. The world evolves, meanwhile we’re quickly losing pace.

What really scares me about the new burg is its sheer size and height. I looked at the detailed pic that’s on that blog and tried to comprehend how someone can build something that tall. Modern day engineering at its best but its still pretty f’n scary.
